parade

Those aren't my feet!! But it occurred to me — just now, for whatever reason, however that works — that I do an awful lot of looking down. I look at streets, sidewalks, at things I find on sidewalks, at shoes (mine and others people's). Is that weird?? I hope not. It's just a function of walking, right?? Of watching my step. Especially on bricks and cobblestones (and sand and rocks): all so picturesque but tricky, as footing goes. And when I'm walking — then talking about walking — I'm usually out doing something momentous like getting a cup of coffee. How pedestrian! All of it! And I just realized it! Not that it doesn't fit. Not that it isn't fine ...

That said, here are a few highlights from the annual Police Parade that marched (and rolled) along Broadway on Sunday ...

Notice the parking space. It's as if he (whoever drives the cool cop car) knew just what I was thinking, i.e., the nail salons will be busy now that flip-flop season is upon us.

And, wait, something's missing ...
I almost forgot the clowns!!
